About

AFL GOULBURN MURRAY

The AFL Goulburn Murray Commission was formally established in November 2012 as the overarching governing body for community football in Goulburn Murray Region.

The Commission partners with our affiliated leagues in the Goulburn Valley League, Kyabram District League and the Goulburn Murray Junior League, Northern Country Women’s and Goulburn Valley Umpires Association to nurture the growth and sustainability of the region’s community clubs.

AFL Goulburn Murray provides administrative services for the Goulburn Valley League (GVL), Kyabram District League (KDL) and Goulburn Valley Umpires Association (GVFUA) as well as governance and administrative responsibilities of the Goulburn Murray Junior League (GMJL) and Northern Country Women’s League (NCWL).

There has been significant change over the past 11 years since the Commission developed the first strategic plan in 2014 which has included the integration of three junior leagues into one, formation of U14’s football in the KDL.

Despite the challenges of COVID, the AFL Goulburn Murray Commission continues to work with the regional stakeholders and AFL Victoria, to drive the strategic objectives and actions of the Commission.
