AFLGM Staff Changes

AFL Goulburn Murray is pleased to formally announce changes and appointments to the AFL Goulburn Murray Regional Administration support to leagues and clubs across the region.


Josephine Spencer: AFLGM Head Operations (Newly Created Position)

Jo comes into the newly created position of Head of Operations following her three years in Operations Manager's role at the Goulburn Valley League. Jo comes into the role after leading the GVL Board through the development of the strategic plan and growth in commercial and community partnerships.


To ensure a continued high level of support leading into the start of the 2023 season, Jo will continue to provide a high level of operational support to both the GVL and KDL.


Kyle Povah: Operations Manager - Goulburn Valley League

Kyle is an experienced Business Administrator with a demonstrated history of working in the sports industry.


Kyle is currently the Business Development Manager at Red Onion Creative and is skilled in Sports Administration, Event Management, Sport Management, Coaching, and Sports Development.


Kyle has completed a Bachelor of Sport Management focused on Sport and Fitness Administration/Management from the University of Canberra.


Kyle commences his role on April 3, 2023.


Thomas Favaro: Operations Manager – Kyabram District League

Following the resignation of Julian Perta, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Favaro to the Operations Managers position of the KDL.


Favaro is currently a Game Development Officer with the AFLGM Participation team.


Thomas has a distinct passion for local sports and has been an advocate and active member of several clubs in basketball, cricket, and football. During the interviews, Favaro demonstrated maturity beyond his 21 years, displaying an ethic of teamwork, leadership, and an understanding of community football.


Thomas has commenced with AFLGM this week and will undergo two weeks of induction and mentoring with the outgoing KDL Operations Manager, Julian Perta, and will initially focus on administration and support to clubs.


The appointment follows the resignation of Julian Perta who has been in the role of KDL Operations and NWCL Manager for the past two years. Julian has made a significant contribution to both the KDL and Northern Country Women’s Leagues and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
