AFL Goulburn Murray are proud to officially become a signatory to the AFL's Women & Girls Community Football Charter and continue to drive the opportunity, visibility, access, and investment for all women and girls in our region.
The Women & Girls Community Football Charter is a commitment from Community Football Leagues, Clubs & Umpire Groups to work towards making Community Football environments welcoming, safe and inclusive for Women & Girls.
AFL Goulburn Murray Region Manager Shaun Connell said, "Women and girls are crucial to the fabric of our leagues and clubs within this region. We have an incredible number of women and girls who are already leading the charge across our footprint, and we are committed to building the platform that supports safe and inclusive opportunities for women and girls in all areas of our game."
Sam Monaghan, AFL Goulburn Murray Club Development Lead, added, "Our league and club leaders have a responsibility to uphold and ensure that the environments surrounding our volunteers, coaches, players, umpires, and administrators are safe and inclusive."
"However, it's more than just a tick-box activity. It needs to be genuine and from a place of continual growth and improvement, while setting the standards in which our community members are welcomed into a club setting, no matter who they are."
As a region, we are proud to support and encourage women and girls to participate in all facets of our great game, and so we encourage all leagues and clubs in the region to complete the form below to express your interest to become a signatory and join us on this journey: https://afl-forms.formstack.com/forms/wagap
