Celebrating Goulburn Murray's AFL Victoria Community Award Winner
Following the AFL Victoria Community Awards last Thursday, we acknowledge and celebrate two outstanding contributors who were recognised for their remarkable service to football across the Goulburn Murray region.
Sam Green – AFL Victoria Senior Coach of the Year Winner

Since taking on the role of Tatura Women's Senior Coach in 2022, Sam Green has been a passionate advocate for women's football and a driving force behind the growth of the Tatura Football Club women's program.
Through his tireless efforts in recruiting players, developing talent and creating a welcoming environment, Sam has helped build a thriving and sustainable program where women and girls feel valued, supported and inspired to participate.
His impact extends far beyond match day. Sam has worked to embed the women's team as an integral part of the club, fostering a strong and inclusive culture that has strengthened the entire Tatura Football Club community.
At a regional level, Sam has also made a significant contribution as a Goulburn Murray Women's Interleague Coach, mentoring some of the region's most talented players while helping promote and grow the women's game across Goulburn Murray.
Sam's leadership, integrity and commitment to developing people both on and off the field make him a truly deserving nominee. Congratulations, Sam, on this outstanding recognition.
Don Kilgour OAM – AFL Merit Award Winner
We also congratulate Don Kilgour OAM, whose extraordinary contribution to football spans an incredible 60 years.
