AFL Goulburn Murray would like to thank Shepparton Foodshare for supporting our AFL Victoria and Goulburn Murray-delivered programs throughout 2024.
Goulburn Murray Region Manager Shaun Connell said, "The partnership with Shepparton Foodshare strives to create a positive and healthy mindset for our community and provide access to fresh fruit to those participants who may not be able to access it regularly."
AFL Vic Participation Coordinator Kevin Monaghan said, "The support of Shepparton Foodshare at the recent Melbourne Football Club Community Camp and Auskick come-and-play session in Mansfield was well received."
Monaghan added, "After our Multicultural Nines program, which was run in collaboration with the Shepparton English Language School, we provided all students access to fresh fruit and drinks."
Shepparton Foodshare rescues and receives food donations to distribute for free to people who need it most, including children, people experiencing homelessness, First Nations people, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities, including new arrivals and refugees.
Graeme Murphy, Operations Manager Shepparton Foodshare, said, "Shepparton Foodshare is thrilled to partner in this program that promotes good health."
"To distribute food for free to where it is needed most, we rely on food donations and food rescues. The fruit that the young people have received today has been generously donated by GV Independent Packers, a supporter of Shepparton Foodshare. This is a wonderful example of how a donation to Shepparton Foodshare flows throughout regional communities and how these valuable partnerships bring happiness to so many.” Murphy said.
AFL Goulburn Murray thanks Shepparton Foodshare for its invaluable support of our programs. We look forward to building our impact in 2025 and beyond.
