AFLW Community Camp: Bombers heading to Shepparton

In collaboration with Essendon, AFL Goulburn Murray and AFL Victoria are excited to welcome Essendon’s AFLW squad to Shepparton for their 2024 Community Camp this July.

Arriving on Monday, July 15, the Bombers will be hosting an Open Training Session and Come & Play Session for the local community at Rumbalara Football Netball Club, as well as taking part in a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony prior.

That evening AFLW Essendon Head Coach Natalie Wood, along with AFL Victoria and local coaches, will provide a great insight into 'Coaching the Female Athlete', high-performance coaching, and the recruitment/retention of females in our great game.

Following training on day two, the squad will venture out to multiple local primary and secondary schools, and several community groups in the region.

AFLGM Regional Manager, Shaun Connell, said, "The women and girls space is ever expanding and with the U14 Girls competition due to launch in 2025, this visit couldn't be more timely in promoting the game to our community and encouraging women and girls to give footy a go."

Full details for the camp and coaches forum will be released soon - register now for the Come & Play Session via the link or QR code below.
