Goulburn Murray Women & Girls Grand Final Day

What an incredibly successful day in Moama on Sunday, with over 200 participants taking part across the Under’s Program, U14 Junior Girls, Youth Girls, and Women’s Grand Finals.

Almost 2,000 people attended throughout the day, enjoying perfect weather and a fantastic community atmosphere. A huge thank you to the volunteers at the Moama FNC for providing an outstanding venue and backdrop for the occasion. The activations for both the Under’s Program and the Grand Finals were run seamlessly by the entire AFLGM team. Special mention to the Program Team — Mel Saunders, Kevin Monaghan, and Di Poole — and the Operations Team — Sammy Heron, Jo Spencer, and Andrew Moore — for your exceptional work.

Congratulations to Shepparton United (Women’s), Moama (Youth Girls), and U14 Junior Girls Pink on their Grand Final victories.

Club Development Lead – Maternity Leave

This week, Sammi Monaghan, our Regional Club Development Lead, commences her maternity leave, with a planned return in early June 2026. We will confirm the contact for club support during Sammi’s leave in due course.

On behalf of the Region, we wish both Sammi and Kevin all the best for the safe arrival of their second child, and we look forward to seeing their family grow.

Junior Finals

As we approach the excitement of the junior finals, we congratulate all teams on their achievements throughout the season and thank players, coaches, umpires, volunteers, and supporters for contributing to what has been a fantastic year.

Finals are a great opportunity to showcase skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We remind everyone involved that the spirit of our game is built on respect — respect for the opposition, umpires, coaches, volunteers, and each other.

Together, let’s ensure the finals series is a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for all.
